FINK shares new single ‘So We Find Ourselves’
Alt-folk phenomenon FINK presents their latest single, ‘So We Find Ourselves,’ offering a delicate intimacy that leads listeners into the band’s reunion and their upcoming album, Beauty In Your Wake.
Following the acclaimed release of the first single, ‘What Would You Call Yourself,’ this piano-centered meditation explores themes of love, birth, and belief in the natural path of life. Taken from their upcoming album Beauty In Your Wake, the song reflects FINK’s musical ambition featuring featuring piano, soulful backing vocals, and tapped-guitar-percussion. Inspired by fatherhood and optimism, songwriter Fin Greenall, along with bandmates Tim Thornton and Guy Whittaker, crafts a deeply personal track that captures the essence of life’s profound moments.
Greenall reflects on the song by saying:
“This song is so personal. I am the first to pour hate on other writers when they have kids and end up writing the ‘baby song’ record afterwards but this is my New Dad song and that’s that! When mine grows up I hope she hears this and knows what it’s like to fall in love together.
“Aside from parenthood, it’s about nothing ever being the wrong thing, it’s about optimism, it’s about rags to riches to riches to rags. In the end, we get it right either way. When we recorded it, I sat live at an open piano and just belted my heart out into the piano itself to get that lovely reverb from the piano’s body. It had to be a live take and I think that’s why there is so much charge in this one.”
