The Garrys set to charm audiences with new single ‘Cakewalk’ and upcoming UK Tour
Canadian sister trio The Garrys has released their latest single, ‘Cakewalk,’ along with an accompanying music video on May 3rd, 2024, via Grey Records.
Marking their first new music since 2021 The Garrys return with the release of their new single, ‘Cakwalk.’ Fusing harmonies and psychedelic dread the track offers a unique blend of criss-crossing guitar riffs, three-part harmonies, and rhythmic stutter, creating a sonic tapestry steeped in nostalgia and existential introspection. The track explores themes of ignoring good advice, grappling with multiple truths, and finding stoic relief in an indifferent universe.
The band adds:
“‘Cakewalk’ is the first song we’re releasing that was written by all four of us; lyrically, the track explores the nuggets of good advice we’ve all ignored, the existential discomfort of holding multiple truths, and the stoic relief of resignation to an indifferent universe.”
Following the release, The Garrys will embark on a tour of the UK, including headline shows in Dublin and Glasgow, as well as performances at FOCUS Wales. With their hazy, sun-bleached melodies and infectious charm, The Garrys are poised to enchant audiences across the pond once again.
