Beloved British indie rockers are back with their latest single, ‘The Sinner,’ a laid-back ballad inspired by the 2019 Irish film, Calm With Horses.

The Coral, beloved British indie rockers known for their distinctive sound, have just unveiled their latest single from their highly anticipated double LP projects, Sea of Mirrors and Holy Joe’s Coral Island Medicine Show. With tremolo guitars, a rhumba rhythm, and a conscious effort to sketch out the sound of a band plying its trade on stages in smokey 6o’s dives, the track’s sense of the sinister, of deals gone wrong and no solutions sitting at the bottom of a glass, slots it effortlessly into The Coral’s extensive songbook.

James Skelly says of the track:

“I was trying to imagine ‘Calm With Horses’ as a noir with a soundtrack by a nameless Merseybeat group that only exists in a half-forgotten dream.”

‘The Sinner’ is available now. The Coral have two albums releasing this fall. Sea of Mirrors is set for September 8, 2023, while the release date for Holy Joe’s Coral Island Medicine Show is still yet to be announced.
