London-based indie-folk artist Sophia Alexa shares a deeply personal track about all the negative thoughts we carry around.

Today, the London-based indie-folk artist Sophia Alexa shares her latest single, ‘Stones.’ Inspired by the weight of all the negative thoughts and worries that we carry around, the track is about putting aside those ‘stones’ which weigh on us, and instead focus on carrying around the reminder of the love others have for you. The track follows Sophia Alexa’s previous single ‘Hall Pass’ from late August.

Speaking on the meaning behind stones, Sophia shares:

“This song, Stones, is special to me because I wrote it about something my dad told me during a time when I was being quite hard on myself. He said I carry all these stones in my pocket that weigh me down, like criticisms and negative thoughts. So he gave me this stone to keep in my wallet and told me it’s the only stone I could carry around. He said it holds the love my family and other people have for me. It’s so sweet and sentimental that I wanted to write about it.”

‘Stones’ is available today on all streaming services.
