Nashville-based Indie Folk duo Paper Wings unveil a delightful track with their latest single, ‘Mad Thing,’ a whimsical track that offers a sneak peek into their upcoming album, Listen to the World Spin, set to release on March 15th via Free Dirt Records.

‘Mad Thing’ is a charming adventure through the imagination of Paper Wings. The duo, consisting of long-time friends Emily Mann and Wila Frank, infuses this indie folk gem with whimsical lyrics, close harmonies, and a hooky guitar line reminiscent of folk legends Gillian Welch & Dave Rawlings. The track, the second taste from their upcoming album, invites listeners into a curiosity-filled chase, unraveling the story of a mysterious character with the duo’s signature blend of traditional folk influences.

Describing the essence of ‘Mad Thing,’ co-writer Emily Mann playfully remarks:

“This song has big raccoon energy. You know, raccoons are creeping around in the night doing strange little things. I’m not sure if the raccoon is someone else or if the raccoon is me. Maybe it’s both.”

‘Mad Thing’ is out now. Listen to the World Spin is out on March 15th via Free Dirt Records.
