Birmingham post-punk/noise-rock trio Mutes set the stage for their forthcoming fourth studio album with their electrifying new single ‘Televangelist,’ released today via No Sound Records.

Building on the success of their November release, ‘Mere Slaughter,’ Mutes continue to redefine the boundaries of their sound. ‘Televangelist’ emerges as a sub-three-minute sonic escapade that freneticly blends new-wave wooze and punk-rock. Recorded live at Megatone Studios, the single encapsulates the band’s signature urgency, featuring motorik purpose, urgent guitar freak-outs, and existential musings delivered with calculated ease.

“Theological projections of an irresolute agnostic; torn between clinging to the assuaging hand of statism and laying waste to internalised idolatry. Catholic guilt is one hell of a trip.”

‘Televangelist’ is out today. The track is pulled from their upcoming fourth album, …buried where you stand, scheduled for release on May 17th, 2024.
