Rising band Mother Tongues drops blissful single ‘Only You’ with mesmerizing music video.

Toronto-based band Mother Tongues, fronted by vocalist/bassist Charise Aragoza and guitarist/vocalist Lukas Cheung, have unveiled their latest single ‘Only You from their highly anticipated debut album Love In A Vicious Way. Showcasing a captivating blend of late ’90s breakbeat production, shoegaze, and dream-pop, ‘Only You’ is a mesmerizing cyber-goth anthem. The song premiered exclusively on Paste and is accompanied by a music video directed by Lukas Cheung. Notably, the video features a nostalgic reunion of Mother Tongues’ singer Aragoza and her sibling Jay Aragoza, who take on the roles of a dancing duo for the first time in a decade, reminiscing their shared childhood love for the arcade classic ‘Dance Dance Revolution’ from the early 2000s.

Lukas Cheung further explains the inspiration behind ‘Only You,’ stating, “This song pays homage to everything we adore about the 1990s and early 2000s. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for another The Matrix sequel by The Wachowskis so that we can secure a spot on the soundtrack.” The music video for ‘Only You’ features stunning animations created by Cheung’s brother Dudley Cheung and talented artist Carson Teal.

‘Only You’ is out today and follows the successful releases of Mother Tongues’ previous singles ‘Worm Day’ and ‘A Heart Beating.’ Love In A Vicious Way is set to be released on July 21st via Wavy Haze Records.
