Michael Bernard Fitzgerald releases new single ‘After A While’ / Announces upcoming album Horizon Lines
Canadian singer/songwriter Michael Bernard Fitzgerald (MBF) has released his latest single ‘After A While,’ the first glimpse of his upcoming sixth full-length album Horizon Lines, set for release on September 27, 2024, via Treasure Island Records/Fontana.
‘After A While’ is a track that Michael has been meticulously crafting since 2021 with producer Josh Rob Gwilliam. Their collaboration began with Zoom sessions and culminated at OCL Studios, finishing the album’s mixing in Josh’s garage. The song captures the essence of post-pandemic life, reflecting on the pressures and the fast pace of time that many can relate to, especially within the context of a busy family life.
Michael describes the single as a blend of his favorite musical elements: “direct, calm, focused, effect-sparse vocals, a droning acoustic that feels welcoming and sustained, big, moving drums, eventide synth sounds and very present (sometimes edgy) organ bass.” The result is a composition that feels both soothing and invigorating, embodying the themes of reflection and resilience.
‘After A While’ is available starting today. MBF’s upcoming album, Horizon Lines, is set for release on September 27, 2024, via Treasure Island Records/Fontana.
