Maximilian pens heartfelt indie-folk ode with ‘Red Wine’
Brighton musical luminary, Maximilian, releases a soul-stirring experience with his latest indie-folk creation, ‘Red Wine,’ released via Mango Wax Records.
‘Red Wine,’ Maximilian’s latest release, transcends its DIY roots weaving a majestic sonic tapestry. Written, recorded, and mixed entirely by Maximilian in various bedrooms across Brighton, the track begins with delicate guitar chords and soaring vocals, evolving into a psych-folk spectacle reminiscent of Grizzly Bear. The song encapsulates the intensity of a fleeting romance, building, peaking, and receding with the brevity of a whirlwind love affair. Maximilian himself describes it as a tale of “sparks, crashes, and burns,” a self-destructive yet beautiful ode to the enduring echoes of first love.
“I wrote this song very quickly, about 4 years ago. It’s about a fleeting relationship that sparks, crashes, and burns. The long-lasting return of first love. Self-destructive but beautiful.”
Maximilian’s ability to transform intimate emotions into a musical journey shines in ‘Red Wine.’ As he takes center stage at Brighton’s The Hope and Ruin for the single’s launch, listeners can anticipate an enchanting live performance.
