Lei Hope delves into vulnerability with new single ‘Sinner’ ahead of EP release
The track serves as a preview of his forthcoming EP Matrices, set to release on May 10th via Heist or Hit.
Manchester-based musician Lei Hope unveils his latest single ‘Sinner,’ offering a glimpse into his journey and struggles with faith and family. ‘Sinner’ delves into themes of Christianity, family, and faith, reflecting on the challenges of navigating personal transformation amidst uncertainty and introspection.
Reflecting on the single and its place within the EP, Lei Hope shares:
“‘Sinner’ is probably my most personal and honest song on this project. I kind of struggled with both family and faith post-pandemic and living alone in Manchester but I’d never explicitly written about it until now. To be honest, I never thought that I could be this honest in songs until I heard Stranger In The Alps by Phoebe Bridgers. I’m questioning transformations in my life, faith, and family whilst not being 100% sure that the change is positive.”
The upcoming EP Matrices, explores the complexities of life’s transformations, with each track offering a unique perspective on growth and change. From sacred melodies to secular sentiments, Lei Hope’s music traverses a diverse sonic landscape, blending elements of indie, R&B, and psychedelia.
