Las Nubes share haunting and raucous new single ‘Would Be’
The track offers a spellbinding blend of garage pop, shoegaze, punk rock, and dream pop, serving as a tantalizing preview of their upcoming album, Tormentas Malsanas, slated for release on June 14th.
With influences ranging from Guided By Voices to Lush, Las Nubes craft a multilingual sonic explosion that captures the essence of their vibrant and eclectic sound. The lead single, ‘Would Be,’ is a testament to their prowess, delivering fuzzy, bilingual melodies that resonate with raw emotion and infectious energy.
In the words of band member Ale Campos:
“‘Would Be’ was inspired by the idea of writing the theme song for a live-action Power Puff Girls series set in the future, where the characters look back on their lives as crime-fighting little girls. The song captures the bittersweet sentiment of growing older and longing to reclaim lost time.”
Accompanied by a captivating music video featuring vintage footage of Campos’s father pursuing his dreams of becoming a professional soccer player, ‘Would Be’ is a heartfelt reflection on the passage of time and the yearning for what could have been.
‘Would Be’ is available on all streaming services starting today.
