La Force releases ‘condition of us’ / Announces new album XO SKELETON
La Force shares her first single from her forthcoming album XO SKELETON announced today.
Canadian indie pop singer and songwriter Ariel Engle (La Force) has released her first single of 2023. The track, ‘condition of us,’ is the first new song from her upcoming album XO SKELETON. The track was the product of an invitation-only “Song A Day” program organized by producer/engineer Phil Weinrobe (Tomberlin, Kings of Convenience, Deerhoof) during the depths of COVID.
Here’s La Force discussing the album:
“The theme of the album revealed itself in the making. At one point she said, ‘God forbid you should die.’ I was gobsmacked. And a bit hot-tempered. And I said those lines: ‘Well, there’s one thing guaranteed: no god or goddess is going to keep me alive.'”
‘condition of us’ is out now. XO SKELETON is out on September 29 via Secret City Records.
