Orielles’ guitarist Henry Carlyle conjures up a low-lit anthem for the lost with his second solo single: ‘A Bigger Splash.’

Halifax-originating and current Manchester-dweller Henry Carlyle has released his first single of 2022, ‘A Bigger Splash.’ The track sees the Orielles’ guitarist go it alone for the second time (‘The Ground’) and create a whirling lo-fi sound that builds tension throughout the 5-minute endeavor. Henry discusses the track and the intricate structure:

“The lyrics are mostly about self-medicating, trying to instantly feel better for a transient moment and then reeling from that for a longer period of time than the intended relief. Which is why the chorus only comes once and is only two lines long. Nothing good lasts too long and goodness changes all the time.”

‘A Bigger Splash’ sees Jack Bogackion drums and Julia Bardo on backing vocals for a second time.
