Cola shares new single ‘Pulling Quotes’ ahead of upcoming album The Gloss
The Gloss is out June 14th on Fire Talk and Next Door Records.
Fresh off a European tour, Cola delivers their latest single ‘Pulling Quotes’ ahead of the release of their sophomore LP, The Gloss. Lyrically, ‘Pulling Quotes’ delves into a relationship where two people approach each other like journalists.
Darcy adds:
“The music is so bright and open I felt the lyrics needed to be a bit cheeky to match the tone. There is definitely some pathos in the darkness of the bridge.”
Stidworthy reflects on the accompanying video:
“For me, the video reflects the cycles of desire and deception in our relationships, and the interference running through that arc – endless doom scrolling, stalking, assumptions, projections, and repeating roles we’ve seen on TV. It’s about navigating through all this mediation and making sense of what’s real in the density and mess of it all.”
