cln reaches deep into a world of hurt and grief for his latest single, ‘Monday Morning.’
Australian songwriter/producer cln has produced his first new music of 2023. The track follows his sophomore album from late 2022, Over, All Again, and is a song about having your world turned upside down.
“This song is about grief. I won’t go into too much detail, I prefer the listener to interpret the lyrics for themselves, but essentially it’s about the feeling of your life being turned upside down by something completely out of your control.
Unfortunately, grief is something that everyone has to experience at some point, and one of my ways of coping with it is to write songs. I tried to keep this one fairly stripped back and minimal, letting each element breathe and speak for itself. I have a tendency to cram too many elements into a song, so this year I have been trying to force myself to simplify things a little bit, and focus more on my songwriting.”
