Rising Leeds quartet China Steps hone their craft on their latest single ‘Tintwhistle.’

Pulled together from the highly esteemed bands Eades and Van Houten, China Steps has released their first single of 2023. Follow-up to 2022’s ‘American Life,’ ‘Tintwhistle’ is a laid-back rolling, grungy guitar-laden track with slightly distorted vocals that discusses how life can change in the blink of an eye.

Speaking more on the lyrical inspiration behind ‘Tintwhistle,’ the band said:

“The song came together out of a near-death experience (slight exaggeration) some time ago when some of us were in Party Hardly, on the way to Glossop near Manchester to shoot a music video. Stan’s back wheel came clean off as we turned a corner in a little town called Tintwhistle – and we went skidding on our side down the road and our lives flashed before our eyes, so perhaps it’s a comment on the fragility/vulnerability of the human experience, in a way!”

China Steps’ new single ‘Tintwhistle’ is out now via Bam Bam Records.
