Ax and the Hatchetmen embark on a summer adventure with new single ‘Flagstaff’
Chicago-based indie rock sextet Ax and the Hatchetmen have released their latest release, “Flagstaff,” out now via Arista Records.
‘Flagstaff’ captures the essence of youthful adventure and the importance of cherishing meaningful connections. Led by singer and guitarist Axel Ellis, the band delivers a song brimming with the spirit of friendship, love, and adventure.
Singer and guitarist Axel Ellis explains:
“This one is about friendship, love, and the desire to feel alive. The guitar riff was written back in 2020, but it wasn’t until we had been on a couple tours together as a band that it felt time to write the song. ‘Flagstaff,’ in the song’s context, represents the youthful spirit of adventure and finding a home away from home, along with the idea that good friendships can make our lives worth living. It’s about choosing to surround yourself with the people you love and celebrating life together. It’s about embracing one another in a world that often feels more lonely than it needs to. It’s about road trippin’ through the desert with your best friends.”
‘Flagstaff’ is out now.
