Icelandic artist Arny Margret shares new single/video ‘waiting’

The track is accompanied by a Guðmundur Kristinn Jónsson-directed video (below).
Icelandic singer-songwriter Arny Margret has shared ‘waiting,’ the latest single from her forthcoming EP dinner alone, out September 22nd via One Little Independent Records. The tender, embracing track has been released via The Bluegrass Situation and is accompanied by a Guðmundur Kristinn Jónsson-directed video. The visual accompaniment pays homage to fellow Icelandic songwriter Jóhann G. Jóhannson’s music video for his 1972 track ‘Asking For Love,’ and is a striking view of how Reykjavík has changed over the past 50 years. ‘waiting’ follows the release of ethereal, lush lead single ‘i went outside.’
“The song is about always feeling like you’re waiting for someone or a moment to say something, but the person doesn’t really see or give you the time,” Margret explains. “It’s about that feeling of saying to someone ‘Hello, I’m here’ but they don’t notice. It’s another where I feel like it’s more honest, I’m not using any metaphor to mask anything here. That’s a pretty scary thing to do.”
‘waiting’ is available on all streaming services today. Her dinner alone EP, is out September 22nd via One Little Independent Records.
