Ireland’s musical luminary Anna Mieke gifts audiences with an ethereal live version of ‘Red Sun,’ the evocative closing track from her celebrated 2022 LP, Theatre (Nettwerk).

Capturing the essence of spontaneity and creativity, Mieke, accompanied by new collaborators Niamh Dalton (fiddle) and Sam Clague (electric guitar, bass clarinet), as well as live bandmates Ryan Hargadon (alto saxophone) and Matthew Jacobson (percussion), orchestrates a spacious, enthralling rendition of ‘Red Sun (Live).’ The mesmerizing rendition, recorded at Dundalk’s Black Mountain Studios, unfolds against a backdrop of stunning natural visuals, gracefully crafted by videomaker Anna Heisterkamp.

Mieke reflects on the project’s intensity, stating:

“It was an exciting and very satisfying project to work on as it was all arranged and recorded in a very short space of time, so there was a sort of tension and adrenaline rush behind everything.”

‘Red Sun (Live)’ is out now.’
