Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers release ‘BAIT’ ahead of album GLORY

ARIA Award-winning indie rock band Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers have released their new single ‘BAIT’ now via Mom + Pop Music and Community Music (AU/NZ). The track arrives as the newest preview of their forthcoming album GLORY, due out November 7, and is accompanied by an official video filmed, edited, and directed by drummer Neve van Boxsel.
‘BAIT’ finds the Canberra-born four-piece—Anna Ryan (they/she, vocals/guitar), Scarlett McKahey (she/her, guitar/vocals), Jaida Stephenson (she/her, bass), and Neve van Boxsel (she/her, drums)—at their most biting and satirical. Driven by a heavy bassline, sharp guitars, and percussive cowbell hits, the track takes aim at the archetypal “ego-driven music industry man who thinks he’s God’s gift.” Laced with irony and swagger, frontperson Anna Ryan’s detached vocal delivery amplifies the song’s sardonic edge.
The band shares:
“‘BAIT’ is big ego, full menace mode. We wrote it in LA, channeling a delusional man who thinks he’s God’s gift to earth. It was fun to cosplay as someone we’d all probably hate in real life.”
Produced by Catherine Marks (boygenius, Wolf Alice) and mixed by Oli Jacobs (Kendrick Lamar, beabadoobee, Taylor Swift), GLORY captures Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers at their most confident. Recorded over five weeks in New South Wales and mastered by Ruairi O’Flaherty (Sabrina Carpenter, Lana Del Rey, Bleachers), the record follows their acclaimed 2023 debut I Love You, which debuted at #6 on the ARIA Charts and earned them multiple ARIA, AIR, and Rolling Stone awards.
‘BAIT’ is available now on all streaming platforms. GLORY arrives November 7 via Mom + Pop Music and Community Music.
