Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers return with a compelling new single, ‘UNSCARRED,’ a shimmering yet biting reflection on the emotional chaos of modern dating.
Released via Mom + Pop and Community Music, ‘UNSCARRED’ picks up where their last single ‘BALCONY’ left off—delivering infectious indie swagger and lyrical depth. Produced by 3x GRAMMY winner Catherine Marks (boygenius, Wolf Alice, Foals), the track was recorded at The Grove Studios in Australia and explores the murky emotional terrain of situationships, particularly the pitfalls of dating emotionally unavailable male musicians.
Written after hearing about a friend’s failed situationship with a male musician, the band shares:
“It’s a feeling we can all relate to—when you think you’re on the same page as someone (who in reality can’t talk about their feelings and end up making you feel insane). It was nice being able to write from her shoes without actually going through the treachery of dating this man.”
