Paper Wings soar to new heights on their third album, Listen to the World Spin
Long-time musical companions Emily Mann and Wila Frank, collectively known as Paper Wings, triumphantly return with their third album, Listen to the World Spin, offering listeners an intimate journey through landscapes of introspection and self-examination.
Produced by: Wila Frank and Emily Mann
Released via Free Dirt Records, the duo’s third album, Listen to the World Spin, marks the joyous reunion of Mann and Frank after a three-year hiatus during which they pursued individual projects. The album, born from the heart-wrenching experiences of the last few years, brings forth a collection of 12 songs that serve as guiding lights and comforting companions.
With pre-released singles (videos below) like ‘Mad Thing,’ ‘Is It True,’ and the title track ‘Listen to the World Spin,’ Paper Wings showcase their acoustic warmth, infusing rawness and an edge into their signature folk sound. Enriched with vibrant banjo melodies and golden harmonies, the album firmly showcases the duo’s profound connection with nature and American folk music—elements that have consistently inspired Frank & Mann’s musical musings.
Wila Frank discusses how the tracks were the foundation to them keeping their sanity over the pst few years:
“These songs brought us back together, tugging at our hearts until we made them into something. We needed these songs to guide and comfort us through the last few years, and we hope they’ll do the same for others.”
Listen to the World Spin is available on all streaming services March 15th. Paper Wings will play an album release tour this spring. Tickets are now on sale here.
Standout Songs: Listen to the World Spin, Mad Thing, Nine Hundred Miles, Is It True, Funny Little World
