Unfinished business turns dedication and devotion into an 11-track endeavor on why can’t we just pretend?.

Produced by: Jeremy Lloyd

Philadelphia electronic duo Marian Hill have released their follow-up album to their 2018 LP, Unusual. Three years in the making, why can’t we just pretend? has evolved into an 11-track endeavor that boasts creative hooks backed by jazzy beat-driven melodies. The work is a mix of new and previously released tracks. And with nearly 2,200,000 combined streams on Spotify of the previously released tracks, fans have already shown how they feel about parts of the album. Looking at the album as a whole, it is consistent, and energetic. From the opening track, ‘remember me,’ to the reflective ‘little bit (ft. GASHI)’ Jeremy Lloyd and singer Samantha Gongol create music that stays with you.

And to think the album almost didn’t happen. Part exhaustion and part pandemic, the two almost parted ways permanently. It took them being isolated (due to the pandemic) to realize the special connection they have together.

why can’t we just pretend? is available today on streaming services.
