zzzahara navigates dream worlds with new single ‘I Can Be Yours’
Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter zzzahara released the new single ‘I Can Be Yours’ featuring Winter today, March 4, 2026, via Lex Records. The track arrives as the lead single for the upcoming album Distant Lands, which is scheduled for release on June 5, 2026.
Produced by Casey Lagos, ‘I Can Be Yours’ is a tender blend of lo-fi, dream pop, and slowcore. The production was inspired by the sound of early Beach House, Neutral Milk Hotel, and The Microphones, utilizing basic recording setups and analogue equipment to create a shimmering effect. While zzzahara’s previous songwriting was largely centered on their love life and romantic rendezvous, this new material shifts focus toward family life and experiences with opioid addiction. Scott Hansen’s project aims to capture a sense of escape through instrumentation and authentic storytelling.
Regarding the songwriting approach, zzzahara stated:
“With this record I thought, what can I say about my life that’s authentic to me without having to be ‘woe is me’? So that’s how I wrote the songs this time. Let me tell it like the facts.”
