ZUSO and Beckah Amani illuminate the dancefloor with ‘Close To Heaven’
Australian producer ZUSO drops his new single ‘Close To Heaven’, previewing his January EP release on Mammal Sounds.
Blending the energetic, rhythm-driven beats typical of afro house with vivid, emotive melodies, ‘Close To Heaven’ highlights ZUSO’s growing presence in Australia’s electronic scene. The production—built from a powerful chord progression—leans into warmth, movement, and atmospheric uplift, while Beckah Amani’s vocal performance threads soul, R&B, and indie-leaning storytelling into a fluid electronic backdrop. Produced by Gabriel Cuenca (ZUSO), written by Cuenca and Amani, and mixed and mastered by Dan Konopka, the track reflects a seamless collaboration.
ZUSO states:
“‘Close To Heaven’ came along quite naturally. I wrote the original idea at the end of last year, starting with a really powerful and emotional chord progression that evolved into a euphoric afro house track. I knew it needed a vocal, and Beckah’s voice is honestly incredible. She gave the whole song another level of emotion and presence. We had a studio session together in Sydney and pretty much wrote the lyrics that day. Everything just worked so well, and we both knew we’d made something great.”
‘Close To Heaven’ is available now on all streaming platforms.
We’ve covered ZUSO previously: ‘Make Me Feel,’ ‘Hurting,’ ‘Erase You,’ ‘Time,’ ‘High Above,’ ‘Amber,’ ‘In The Dark,’ ‘Hold Me,’ ‘Miss You,’ ‘Aurora,’ and ‘Higher.’
