Wishy shares new single ‘Over and Over’ ahead of upcoming EP
Wishy continues their unstoppable rise with the release of ‘Over and Over,’ the latest single from their forthcoming EP, Planet Popstar, out April 25th on Winspear.
A shimmering blend of nostalgic alt-pop and intricate guitar work, ‘Over and Over’ captures the band’s signature mix of hazy melodies and finely tuned production. The track unfolds into a propulsive chorus, balancing lush harmonies with Kevin Krauter’s distinct vocals. Originally written in 2020 before Wishy was formed, the song was revived for this project, with Krauter noting that bandmate Ben Lumsdaine’s production and Nina Pitchkites’ backing vocals took it to another level.
Krauter says of the track:
“The major themes of this song revolve around desire, ambition, disappointment, acceptance, playing the cards you’re dealt, etc. I wrote this song in 2020 before the band existed, and since then had no plans to properly record and release it. I knew Ben would crush it on the mix and production, however, and Nina’s voice would send it over the edge. It simply had to be a Wishy song.”
