Dutch electronic duo Weval has shared ‘Movement,’ the final single from their upcoming fourth album Chorophobia, out September 5 via Ninja Tune’s Technicolour imprint. The single follows earlier releases ‘Just Friends,’ ‘Dopamine,’ and ‘Open Up That Door’ ft. Kilimanjaro.

‘Movement’ captures the duo’s new creative direction with spiraling builds and acid-tinged synths that showcase their decision to embrace dance music more openly. The track reflects the bold, extroverted spirit of their upcoming album, which blends higher BPMs, funk influences, and unexpected sonic turns. This fourth studio album follows nearly a decade of evolution for Harm Coolen and Merijn Scholte Albers, who began their career resisting the label of a dance act but now lean into it with freedom and experimentation.

Harm reflects on Weval’s second and third albums:

“Until that point, we had always worked on records with a ‘listening’ mindset. We realised that we’ve been scared of making dance music for all of our journey as producers.”

Alongside the album, Weval will embark on a headline tour in October and November, including a stop at London’s Hackney Church, where they will bring their expansive new sound to international audiences.

‘Movement’ is out now, with Chorophobia following this Friday via Technicolour.
