We Are Joiners weave chaos and connection on new single ‘White Thread’
Zeelst/Eindhoven punk collective We Are Joiners return with their latest release, ‘White Thread,’ out November 14 via Totally Real Records (New York, US). The song delivers a brutal yet melodic gut-punch—an indie-punk anthem born from frustration, friendship, and collaboration across borders.
‘White Thread’ marks a sonic evolution for We Are Joiners. Known for their lo-fi, 8-track bedroom recordings, the band steps into a fuller, more expansive sound with the help of notable collaborators. Produced and mixed by Sarah Tudzin (Illuminati Hotties/Boygenius) and featuring contributions from Travis Harrison (Guided by Voices producer), Cox Dieben (The Very Sexuals), and Superdestroyer, the track captures both grit and warmth. It’s a song that balances chaos with intimacy—layered guitars, jagged rhythms, and a deeply human core.
Songwriter Joep van Son explains:
“I really liked my 90s plastic 8-track recorder. But I wanted something else, to experiment more with multiple layers. Which also allowed us to collaborate easier with other musicians and friends.”
The result is a community-driven creation that bridges local and international scenes. From fathers met in the schoolyard to renowned indie figures, ‘White Thread’ embodies the project’s spirit of connection and experimentation. It also serves as a preview of We Are Joiners’ upcoming album, ZILST, set to further explore the band’s raw energy and collaborative ethos.
‘White Thread’ is available starting November 14 on Spotify and Bandcamp via Totally Real Records.
