Wax Head delivers ‘Clatter Coats,’ their synth-driven psych punk return

Manchester psych-punks Wax Head return with their second release of 2025, the sprawling, synth-laced ‘Clatter Coats,’ out today via Sour Grapes.
Recorded with longtime collaborator Borja Regueira at Manchester’s GLUE Studio and mastered by Joe Carra (King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Amyl and The Sniffers), ‘Clatter Coats’ is a wilder companion to April single ‘Terminal Sinker.’
“Clatter Coats acts as a second part to our previous single ‘Terminal Sinker,’ contrasting its tight two-minute punk energy with an extended freeform jam born out of our live shows. It blends synth arpeggiators, roto-toms and guitar drones, with lyrics that depict sinister, tunnel-dwelling creatures.”
Wax Head’s reputation as one of the most ferocious live bands in the UK will continue this fall with headline shows in Sheffield, Manchester, Bristol, and London, alongside appearances at Paris’ MaMa Festival and Liverpool’s Lost Art Skateshop.
‘Clatter Coats’ is out now.
