Varas crafts emotional depth with ‘Bär Mig Ut’
Swedish singer-songwriter Varas delivers an evocative exploration of sound in his latest single, ‘Bär Mig Ut.’ The track serves as the final glimpse into his upcoming EP, Eaten By Worms, set for release on February 21st via TEN Records.
‘Bär Mig Ut’ captures Varas’ distinctive artistry, blending layers of 12-string acoustic guitars with innovative effects. Emerging from a songwriting collaboration with Linnéa Netin, the track retains much of her lyrical essence. “The only change was to the chorus; her original verses remain intact” Varas expands “I was drawn to her writing style—it didn’t spell everything out, making it feel deeply personal to her.”
As with his previous work, Varas combines influences from rock, punk, hip-hop, and soul to craft a sound that defies genre boundaries. The track’s richly textured instrumentation and introspective lyrics offer listeners a multifaceted musical experience, showcasing the artist’s evolution.
Varas reflects:
“I’ve always drawn inspiration from different types of music. And I’ve always been more intrigued by artists’ musical personalities than by the genre they belong to. I’m not trying to create genre-less music, but I’m fine with it if that’s how it turns out. I aim to let my personality shine through in my music, and I don’t think anyone’s personality is one-dimensional. I always contradict myself, so why wouldn’t my music?”
