Triples have released their new single ‘Gonna Be Good,’ continuing the rollout of their upcoming EP Every Good Story, out January 30 on Bleak Enterprise.

Toronto-based project Triples, led by songwriter and actor Eva Link, shares ‘Gonna Be Good’ as the second release from the forthcoming EP. The new single arrives with an accompanying video and follows December’s ‘Be Around,’ marking another step in the project’s newly redefined era. ‘Gonna Be Good’ centers on themes of anxiety and self-doubt, framed through concise, melody-driven songwriting that leans into power pop traditions.

Musically, ‘Gonna Be Good’ draws from layers of 1990s guitar pop, combining lo-fi textures with a direct, punchy structure. The song strikes a balance between upbeat momentum and an undercurrent of melancholy, pairing chiming guitars and straightforward rhythms with a reflective lyrical perspective. The result is a track that emphasizes clarity and emotional immediacy while maintaining a sense of restraint, positioning the song as a focused statement within the EP’s broader arc.

“I was in a down and anxious state of mind, but I didn’t want to write a song about it. I thought that, by writing it directly, I would be commemorating it, plus overthinking it all was just plain exhausting. I was indignant towards these feelings of doubt and feeling guilty for no reason – I wanted to have power over them. I wanted to fight back against these annoying feelings so they’d just go away. (It’s obviously not that simple, but it felt cathartic to firmly decide “this time I’m gonna be good”).”

‘Gonna Be Good’ is out now and available to stream on all platforms.
