Tiga reflects on tension and release on new single ‘FRICTION’
Tiga releases his new single ‘FRICTION,’ out now via Turbo Recordings and Secret City Records. The track serves as the final single ahead of his upcoming studio album HOTLIFE, scheduled for release on April 17, 2026.
On ‘FRICTION,’ the Montreal DJ and producer shifts away from the quick-fire hooks that have defined much of his catalog, opting instead for a slower, more reflective structure. The track leans into longform songwriting while maintaining the pulse of club culture, balancing steady electronic rhythms with a lyrical focus on the pressures of modern life. Co-written by Jesper Dahlbäck and Priori with additional production from Patrick Holland, the song explores emotional tension while positioning dance music as a form of release.
Tiga proclaims on the track:
“Too much friction, too much tension… I need some of your attention.”
‘FRICTION’ is out now and available to stream, with HOTLIFE arriving April 17.
