Thin Lear shares new single/video ‘Bowie’s Ley Lines’

The track is part of his upcoming EP A Beach of Nightly Glory, produced by Matthew E. White (known for his work with Bedouine and Natalie Prass), set to release on June 7th via Metropolitan Groove Merchants.
New Jersey-based artist Matt Longo, known by his moniker Thin Lear, has released his latest single ‘Bowie’s Ley Lines,’ accompanied by a surreal, psychedelic video. The song delves into a night of teenage euphoria on the beach, reminiscing about carefree moments with friends, set to the backdrop of David Bowie’s Hunky Dory playing on the cassette player. Longo reflects on the value of these memories and their impact on finding joy later in life.
Longo describes the creative process, saying:
“Developing this arrangement at Spacebomb with Matthew E. White and that crew was a pretty organic process. We kept paring it down from an originally folky vibe and then gave it this thudding rhythm section…Alan Parker (guitarist) started adding in these Tom Verlaine-like guitar parts for the ending.”
With just five tracks, the forthcoming EP offers a textured picture of life’s chaotic beauty and the capacity to hold multiple emotions simultaneously. On it, Longo delicately navigates the complexities of existence while embracing the present and shedding the weight of the past.
‘Bowie’s Ley Lines’ is out now. A Beach of Nightly Glory, is set to release on June 7th via Metropolitan Groove Merchants.
