The Revivalists unveils Poolside remix of ‘Wish I Knew You’ ahead of 10th anniversary tour

The Revivalists are celebrating a milestone by releasing a brand-new remix of their hit ‘Wish I Knew You,’ reimagined by L.A.-based chillwave artist Poolside.
Originally featured on the band’s 2015 breakthrough album Men Amongst Mountains, ‘Wish I Knew You’ became a multi-platinum hit, topping charts and amassing over 440 million streams in the U.S. alone. Now, a decade later, the track gets a fresh spin in Poolside’s remix—one that blends retro nostalgia with modern dance floor grooves. With a visualizer featuring throwback band photos from the Men Amongst Mountains era, the remix delivers a sonic and visual tribute to the album’s legacy.
Lead singer David Shaw says:
“We all just love love love this reimagined version of ‘Wish I Knew You.’ When I first heard it, I probably listened to it 20 times in a row. No joke. The reimagined groove on the chorus really smacks you. We’re all so honored that Poolside gave the greenlight for this one.”
Poolside’s Jeffrey Paradise adds:
“I basically took the original, politely asked it to leave, and invited some synthesizers and drum machines over, mixed up the arrangement ever so slightly, and BOOM. Here it is. For dancefloor use only! But to be a bit more serious, remixing a song from a band this tight is kind of like trying to rearrange a finished puzzle without breaking the picture. Their chemistry is undeniable, so the challenge was to pull it apart enough to make something new while keeping the soul intact.”
With this remix and an extensive tour ahead, The Revivalists are proving that Men Amongst Mountains remains a powerful force in their musical journey.
