The Baxbys share sharp, hook-filled single ‘Masses in Glasses’

Massachusetts indie-rockers channel breakup angst and swagger on second single ‘Masses in Glasses’ from their debut album.
Massachusetts-based band The Baxbys have released their second single, ‘Masses in Glasses,’ a tightly produced, emotionally resonant track that showcases the group’s rising potential in the indie rock scene. With roots in Amherst and a sonic palette shaped by The Strokes, The Smiths, and The Pixies, the four-piece delivers a confident follow-up to their debut single ‘In a Cage.’ ‘Masses in Glasses’ was recorded in The Baxbys’ makeshift home studio in Amherst and produced by David Greenbaum. Atmospheric yet direct, the track inverts traditional romantic praise, painting a picture of post-breakup reflection through sharp lyricism and catchy, guitar-driven arrangements. With bursts of passion and dynamic energy, it’s the kind of track that’s as introspective as it is ready-made for packed live shows.
Speaking about the single, The Baxbys said:
“We recorded it in The Baxbys’ makeshift home studio in Amherst, Massachusetts and it was produced by David Greenbaum. The song inverts conventional tropes about romantic praise. With its atmospheric yet tight production, it follows one member’s post-breakup flings which revealed the arrogance of “the masses” and highlighted the depth of a former partner.”
‘Masses in Glasses’ marks another strong step ahead of their debut album, details of which are expected soon. With a growing fan base and a knack for transforming raw emotion into crisp, compelling songs, The Baxbys are quickly becoming a band to watch.
