Tessa Rose Jackson continues album rollout with ‘Built To Collide’
Tessa Rose Jackson releases her new single ‘Built To Collide’ on January 9, offering another preview of her upcoming third studio album The Lighthouse, due out January 23 via Tiny Tiger Records. The Dutch-British artist follows last year’s singles ‘Fear Bangs The Drum’ and ‘By Morning’ with a track that continues the rollout of the forthcoming release.
‘Built To Collide’ is a dynamic indie-pop song that builds gradually, layering dreamy guitar lines with playful string arrangements before culminating in a fast-paced, drum-driven finale. The track balances lightness and reflection, leaning into momentum while acknowledging repetition and human fallibility. Its progression mirrors the song’s central idea, allowing the music to intensify as it moves toward release, making it a fitting entry point into Jackson’s next album era.
Tessa Rose Jackson:
“This is my rant song. A song about accepting that sometimes you live and you don’t learn. It’s human nature to mess up, to sometimes fall into the old mistakes you thought you’d grown out of. This song is my celebration of this and an invitation to slightly poke fun at yourself. Thought you’d know better by now? Well guess what, you don’t! Dust yourself off, have a little laugh and move on.”
‘Built To Collide’ is out now and available to stream on all major platforms. The official music video is also available to watch below.
