Tanukichan and Wisp unite on dreamy new single ‘It Gets Easier’

Oakland’s shoegaze luminary Tanukichan has teamed up with rising star Wisp for a captivating new single, ‘It Gets Easier,’ the second release from Tanukichan’s upcoming Circles EP, due out September 20th via Carpark Records.
‘It Gets Easier’ is a sonic journey that marries Tanukichan’s electronic-leaning, breakbeat-driven sound with Wisp’s signature dreamy heaviness. The track, produced by Tanukichan’s new collaborator Franco Reid, begins with a reverbed haze, gradually building layers of distortion and feedback. As the song progresses, the chorus emerges as a highlight, with the voices of Tanukichan and Wisp merging seamlessly in a misty, ethereal blend.
Reflecting on the creation of the track, Hannah van Loon, the creative force behind Tanukichan, shares:
“Franco wrote the riff in 2020 and loved the idea but didn’t know what to do with it, it was always kicking around, and when he sent it to me things clicked and the song came about very quickly. When he wrote the initial riff he wanted it to feel a little sci-fi, rock, but also ethereal.”
‘It Gets Easier’ stands out as a powerful preview of what Circles has to offer.
