Swirls release ‘Leave It To Me’ as final album preview
Swirls release new single ‘Leave It To Me,’ the final preview from their upcoming second album Surge, due out March 6, 2026 via Howlin’ Banana Records and À Tant Rêver du Roi.
‘Leave It To Me’ centers on endurance and emotional overload, pairing tightly wound guitar riffs with a chorus that opens outward. The song moves between tension and release, reflecting the strain of carrying responsibility while barely holding together. Its structure mirrors that push and pull, knotting itself in the verses before loosening into a more open, reconciliatory ending. Sonically, the track fits squarely within Swirls’ slacker punk lane, driven by crunchy amps and an unpolished urgency that nods to bands like Parquet Courts and Pavement while maintaining the band’s raw, laid-back approach.
Swirls explains:
“‘Leave It To Me’ is about holding it together for someone else when you’re already struggling to stand on your own. It’s the soundtrack for those who take everything on their shoulders, grit their teeth, and end up laughing when everything goes wrong. It tangles itself up in the verse’s guitar riff, only to wrap you in a big embrace when the chorus hits. The track ends on an outro that feels like a reconciliation – or maybe just the inability to leave the past behind.”
‘Leave It To Me’ is out now and available to stream on all platforms.
We’ve covered Swirls previously: ‘Neverland‘ and ‘Powerstation.’
