Star Card embraces imperfection on new single ‘Ambitious Guy’
NYC-based band Star Card share ‘Ambitious Guy,’ the final single from their upcoming album Trash World, out Friday, November 14, 2025, via Already Dead Records.
‘Ambitious Guy’ embodies Star Card’s raw, confessional sound—blending vulnerability with noisy, melodic grit. Layered guitars and introspective lyrics highlight the project’s evolving identity, trading bedroom recordings for full-band arrangements that expand their sonic scope while retaining emotional immediacy.
Speaking about the ethos behind Star Card, Calley shares:
“For me, Star Card is an exercise in being more vulnerable and resisting the urge to pretend everything’s okay, it’s not, but life carries on anyway. Especially in a culture that demands we only show our polished sides, I want to talk about what’s rough, the circumstances I’ve escaped, and the ones that haunt me.”
