Softlung has shared their new single ‘Glass House,’ the first taste of their yet-to-be-announced sophomore album.

Opening with the line, “Once upon a time we had all of our lives looking like a sunrise,”, the track blends pulsing drums, melodic synths, and washy guitars into a nostalgic journey through life and love in an era where everything feels on display. ‘Glass House’ marks a shift in Softlung’s sound—from bedroom acoustic writing sessions to a dense, magnetic energy primed for bigger stages. The creative evolution began when Kardash set down the guitar and leaned into an ‘80s analog synth and drum machine, a process refined during a residency in Biarritz, France.

Kardash reflects on the turning point:

“I had recorded an album of electronic demos, and really contemplated putting them out that way, but I was fortunate to spend a month on the coast of France recording while staring out at the ocean and I just started feeling the music differently. I began envisioning a bigger soundstage. Inspired by the power of the ocean, I wrote new parts, rewrote lyrics, and layered more instruments and by the time I got back to my studio, the trajectory of the songs had completely changed.”

‘Glass House’ is out now, with more new music and announcements to follow ahead of the sophomore album.
