Sofiya Nzau and Dutch DJ-producer Madism team up to reimagine Robert Miles’ classic ‘Children’ with their new single ‘Hutia,’ out now via Warner Music Central Europe

Thirty years after ‘Children’ transformed electronic music with its piano melodies and trance rhythms, ‘Hutia’ introduces fresh Afro House energy. Madism, a producer with over a billion Spotify streams and remix credits for artists like Lewis Capaldi and Sam Smith, adapts the original’s piano motif into a layered, percussive soundscape.
At the core of ‘Hutia’ is Sofiya Nzau, the Kenyan singer-songwriter who broke out with Zerb’s viral 2023 hit ‘Mwaki.’ Singing in Kikuyu, the language of Kenya’s largest ethnic group, Nzau delivers lyrics about longing, closeness, and love’s intensity.
The line “Tondu wahutia wahutia … Ukangorokia” evokes a touch so powerful it transforms everything.
‘Hutia’ is a striking reinvention of one of electronic music’s most iconic songs, blending nostalgia with modern Afro House energy and showcasing the global reach of Sofiya Nzau’s voice alongside Madism’s production.
