Smoker Dad serves up humor and heart in new video for ‘Part II’ / Release sophomore album

Seattle-based rockers Smoker Dad have released the music video for ‘Part II,’ the first track from their new album Hotdog Highway.
‘Part II’ kicks off Hotdog Highway, a 10-track record that blends Smoker Dad’s signature humor with heartfelt themes of love and the struggles of life on the road. Engineered and mixed by Garrett Reynolds (Sleater-Kinney) at Electrokitty Sound Studio, the album reflects the band’s experiences from grassroots touring to truck stop pit stops. Each song on the album is laced with a sense of camaraderie, hardship, and the highs and lows of touring life.
The ‘Part II’ video adds a visual layer to the band’s storytelling, highlighting their lighthearted yet authentic spirit.
“Most of the songs are about love or struggling with sobriety but they all stem from touring. It’s lonely on the road and the mind runs. Hotdog Highway is about trying to deal with that while still pulling through for the show every night. Smoker Dad is a big band and sometimes we’d be touring with 7 or 8 folks all in one van. We were so crammed in there, we would say ‘like hotdogs down the highway’ and it just became this continuous joke.”
‘Part II’ is out now. Hotdog Highway can be heard on your favorite DSP starting today.
