Manchester noise-rock quartet Slowhandclap have unleashed their newest single, ‘Disarm,’ a searing, politically charged track that showcases their blistering sound and unrelenting energy.

The single arrives ahead of the band’s debut London show at The Windmill on July 31st, where they’ll support Stratford Rise. Already a force in the UK’s underground scene, Slowhandclap have made a name for themselves with intense live sets and support slots for acts like YHWH Nailgun, Maruja, and Ditz.

Produced by Samuel William Jones (Maruja, SLAP RASH), ‘Disarm’ finds the band in peak form. Fueled by slugging basslines, piercing guitars, and explosive drumming, the track blends noise-rock with electronic precision and hip-hop-informed rhythms. It’s an uncompromising, muscular release that refuses to be ignored.

“The track speaks about feeling like you’re under someone’s control, being made to feel like you owe something and the power that asserts over you. It can apply to individual relationships, as well as the gaslighting a nation projects in the form of patriotism. To make people feel like speaking against your government is inherently unpatriotic because of all they’ve given you.”

‘Disarm’ is out now.
