Skegss drops new single ‘Out Of My Head’ ahead of upcoming album Pacific Highway Music

Australian duo Skegss have just released their new single ‘Out Of My Head,’ a jangly, irresistible track that serves as a teaser for their upcoming album Pacific Highway Music, due out October 18, 2024, via Loma Vista Recordings.
‘Out Of My Head’ showcases the band’s signature sound, blending playful lyricism with upbeat rock elements. The single is accompanied by a karaoke-style music video directed by Vaughan Deadly and Nick Pollet, adding a fun, nostalgic touch. Produced by Paul Butler, known for his work with artists like Devendra Banhart and Michael Kiwanuka, the track maintains the band’s raw energy while exploring new sonic textures.
Ben Reed, Skegss’ vocalist and guitarist, describes the song as a reflection on moving past negativity:
“Don’t get caught up on how someone makes you feel for too long in a negative way, pretend you get to restart life again and go do the things that make you thrive. We all say and do dumb things no matter how wise someone seems. So don’t get too hung up on your mistakes if you recognise them.”
With ‘Out Of My Head,’ Skegss continues to build anticipation for Pacific Highway Music, an album that promises to be their most accomplished work yet.
