shower curtain shares dreamy ‘tell u’ Crate Remix ahead of deluxe album release
shower curtain, the NYC-via-Brazil project of Victoria Winter, has unveiled their latest single, ‘tell u’ – Crate Remix, a glimmering reinterpretation from the upcoming words from a wishing well (Deluxe Edition), due May 23rd via Angel Tapes / Fire Talk.
The track, reimagined by NYC shoegaze group Crate—whose bassist Cody Hudgins is also a member of shower curtain—doubles the runtime of the original and shifts its lo-fi DNA into a lush, drum and bass-driven dream-pop landscape. It marks the third rework from the deluxe edition, following prior remixes by Retail Drugs and Computerwife, and sets the tone for additional contributions from LAILA and fantasy of a broken heart.
Winter adds:
“I was so happy to have Cody work on this remix, it transformed into a whole new track giving a once lo-fi track we did on the computer to a whole new drum n bass track and still preserved some of the original melodies.”
Hudgens says:
“‘tell u’ is one of my favorite songs on the album so when I got asked to do a remix I knew immediately which one it was gonna be. Chopping up audio is one of my favorite parts about producing music so remixes feel really natural to my music-making flow. Plus… when you are already working with amazing sounds it just makes the process that much more satisfying. I love when the original ideas and melodies still exist in a remix but have a completely different energy, a dream cranked up to 11 kinda feel in this case ya know.”
The remix arrives just ahead of a deluxe edition release show in New York City on May 24th at Nightclub 101, where shower curtain will be joined by Jawdropped, Bedridden, and DJ sets from fantasy of a broken heart and Computerwife.
‘tell u’ – Crate Remix is out now on your favorite DSP.
