Scout and Phoebe Green redefine ‘Who’ in captivating collaboration

London-based singer, songwriter, and producer Scout unveils a compelling reworking of her latest single ‘Who,’ featuring the indie-pop enchantress Phoebe Green. The collaboration comes on the heels of the announcement of Scout’s debut EP Everything Will Make Sense, set to release on March 1, 2024, via Sweat Entertainment (Dolores Forever, kid apollo).
‘Who,’ in its original form, is a poignant exploration of frustration and confusion, delving into issues of power abuse within the music industry. Scout’s intention behind the song is clear – it serves as a reminder to wholly respect and trust your own sense of self, especially in an industry wrought with challenges.
Expressing her excitement about working with Phoebe Green, Scout remarks:
“Phoebe is someone I’ve looked up to a lot as an artist and a songwriter for a while, so finding out she was down for a collab was so cool, especially with ‘Who’ being my second-ever release. Working with someone like Phoebe is really effortless because one, she’s super talented, but also I think because there’s a level of unspoken understanding of each other’s experience as young women in the industry which the song touches upon.”
Phoebe Green reciprocates the sentiment, stating:
“I absolutely loved ‘Who’ the second I heard it, it’s a really special song, and I feel so lucky to have been asked to be involved. We had such a fun time in the studio, and I’m so happy with how the song’s turned out!”
The collaboration not only showcases the seamless blend of Scout and Phoebe Green’s voices but also highlights the shared experiences and unspoken understanding between the two artists, particularly as young women navigating the complexities of the music industry.
‘Who’ is out now. Scout’s debut EP Everything Will Make Sense, is set to release on March 1, 2024, via Sweat Entertainment (Dolores Forever, kid apollo).
