SANDS releases cinematic new single ‘So Real’
London-based psych-pop artist SANDS returns with his new single ‘So Real,’ out October 29th on all major streaming platforms. The track marks the first installment in a two-part release, with a companion piece set to arrive in November 2025.
Produced and recorded by Andrew Sands, ‘So Real’ combines sweeping piano arrangements with a noir-infused atmosphere. The song explores a surreal, shifting landscape — “a bubble made of concrete” — where reality and illusion blur. Drawing on elements of psych-pop, dark pop, and surrealism, it explores the tension between truth and absurdity, offering a disorienting yet immersive experience.
SANDS says:
“These tracks explore the tipping point — the moment when reality starts to distort and the absurd becomes seductive. It’s a bit of a shift from ‘The World’s So Cruel’, the mood is a bit more cinematic if not theatrical. Things are more unstable — like a cracked mirror.”
‘So Real’ is available now on all streaming platforms, with ‘Pirate’ to follow on November 28th.
We’ve covered Midnight Pool Party previously: ‘When It Starts To Rain.’
