With their Australian tour sold out and their debut US/Canada tour close behind, Rum Jungle unveils their latest single, ‘What’s It Like,’ ahead of their debut album Recency Bias, set for release on February 21, 2025.

A track rooted in vulnerability, ‘What’s It Like’ explores the overwhelming gratitude of being loved even when self-doubt creeps in. The four-piece keeps the arrangement simple, allowing the heartfelt lyrics and melody to take center stage. While the song carries a delicate intimacy, the brooding bass and glitchy guitar toward the end create a grand, emotional weight—mirroring the intensity of the feeling it conveys.

Vocalist/guitarist Benny McIntyre says of the track:

“‘What’s It Like’ is a track that deals with feeling like it’s such a miracle to have someone love you even if you don’t quite love yourself at times. It’s simple and it’s honest and it’s true. We thought about putting a lot more instruments into the song but it ended up being that we didn’t want to overcomplicate the arrangement so the lyrics and melody could stand out. We like to think the small touches of the brooding bass and screaming glitchy guitar towards the end makes the song feel enormous like the gravity of the feeling it’s talking about, while still being right down to earth.”

‘What’s It Like’ is out now.
