ROREY unveils new single ‘Sleepwalking’ from upcoming EP Dysphoria

The track is the second single from her upcoming sophomore EP, Dysphoria, a collection deeply rooted in her mental health journey following a bipolar disorder diagnosis in 2021.
Emerging from New York’s vibrant music scene, queer bedroom pop singer-songwriter ROREY has released her newest single ‘Sleepwalking.’ The track captures the essence of cognitive dissonance through haunting melodies, ethereal vocals, and hypnotic instrumentals. The dreamy indie-pop piece features hazy vocals and melodic hooks, blurring the lines between the conscious and the subconscious, inviting listeners to introspect and explore.
Here’s ROREY describing the track:
“‘Sleepwalking’ is my disassociation anthem. I wanted to paint this vivid image of me walking down the street experiencing life in a way that made absolutely no sense. I felt so delusional and removed at the time; (sleepwalking) through life in this almost dream-like state.”
Co-produced by her longtime friend and collaborator Scott Effman, her upcoming Dysphoria EP features eight tracks, six of which were written during her period of diagnosis and treatment. The EP emulates her mental health journey, marked by haunting melodies and ethereal vocals that reflect her cognitive dissonance.
‘Sleepwalking’ is out now. Dysphoria is set for release in the near future.
