Ringing push forward with crushing new single ‘Want2Want2’ ahead of debut album release
Ringing release their new single ‘want2want2,’ as the latest preview of their debut album another cycle in the cosmic wash, due March 20, 2026 via Julia’s War Recordings and Signal//Noise Records. The Brooklyn-based project, led by Colton Walker, also unveiled an official music video for the track.
The new single ‘want2want2’ leans into Ringing’s dense, shoegaze-influenced sound. Slick drums cut through heavy drones of distortion, bringing metallic tones and raw lyricism to the forefront. As the track descends into crushing riffs, Colton sings, “You could start living more consciously, searching for something more interesting, desperate for any anomaly,” underscoring the tension between numbness and self-awareness that defines the release. The song’s structure mirrors its subject matter, building from restraint into a heavier, immersive wall of sound.
Colton explains:
“This song is about the frustration of longing for something better when you feel stuck in a pattern. It’s easy to slip into apathy, even when you know it’s holding you back. Ultimately, though, it’s about the moment of clarity where you make a decision to do something about it.”
‘want2want2’ is out now, with another cycle in the cosmic wash available for pre-order ahead of its March 20, 2026, release. Available now on all streaming platforms.
